My Story

Shaped by God,
built by purpose.

I am a Civil Engineer and Project Manager by profession, but everything I am begins with faith. Born and raised in Samoa, I have spent more than 38 years working to build the infrastructure of this nation — roads, airports, communities — and I have never done a single day of that work without God's hand upon it. Mamanuina e le Atua. I am shaped by God.

I founded Isikuki Punivalu & Associates Ltd to bring professional engineering and project management to the Pacific on Samoan terms. I serve as Chairman of the Samoa Airport Authority and am developing the Apia Energy Centre through Waste to Energy Group Limited — Samoa's first waste-to-energy facility. These are not just projects. They are acts of service to a country I love deeply.

But the work I am most proud of is not in any boardroom. It is in my family — in Kerrie, my partner and my anchor; in my children, each of whom has built something remarkable of their own; and in five grandchildren who are the purest expression of everything I have ever worked toward.

The Heart of Our Home

Kerrie Punivalu

Behind every good man is a woman of extraordinary strength, grace and wisdom. Kerrie is mine. As Chief Executive of Vaiala Beach School and the steady, loving centre of our family, she holds everything together with a quiet power that I have admired every day of our life together. This family — spanning three countries and five grandchildren — is as much her legacy as it is mine.

Our Children & Their Families

Every family, a blessing.

Our children have built beautiful families of their own. Together we stretch across Samoa, Australia and New Zealand — different places, one family.

Staying Close Across Distance

Grandpa's Playbook.

Distance is no excuse for absence. I built Grandpa's Playbook as a weekly commitment to intentional, consistent connection with every grandchild — wherever in the world they are.

Mon

Who We Are

Stories about our family's identity, heritage, and the Samoan values that shape who we are and where we come from.

Tue

Maths & Thinking

Keeping young minds sharp. A simple problem, a puzzle, or a life lesson wrapped in numbers.

Wed

Samoan Culture

Language, customs, and the beauty of our fa'asamoa — passed from Grandpa to grandchildren, one Wednesday at a time.

Thu

Faith

A verse, a prayer, or a reflection. Faith is the foundation of everything in our family — Mamanuina e le Atua.

Fri

Grandpa's World

A window into what Grandpa does — engineering, energy, Samoa, the airport — so they grow up knowing the work behind the name.

Always

Voice Messages

WhatsApp messages, voice notes, and video calls — because my grandchildren should hear my voice and know my heart, not just my name.

The Foundation

Mamanuina
e le Atua.

Shaped by God. These three words are not a slogan — they are the truest description of my life. Every road I have built, every company I have led, every child I have raised has been under God's hand. I serve as a Lay Preacher at EFKS Levili Church in Apia, and I believe that no achievement in this life means anything unless it is offered back to the One who gave the capacity for it.

Faith is not something I have kept separate from my work or my family. It runs through all of it. And it is the most important thing I want to pass on — not the engineering degrees or the boardroom titles, but a deep, unshakeable trust in God.

From Papa Kuki's Heart

A letter to my grandchildren.

To Lio, Sefa, Eve, Eric, and little Aukuso —

I want you to know that you are the reason everything I have built matters. Not the airports or the energy plants or the engineering firm — those are just the work. You are the reason.

By the time you read this properly and understand it, I will have spent years trying to find ways across the miles to tell you who you are. You are Punivalus. You carry a name that means something — in Samoa, in Australia, in New Zealand, and wherever God takes you next. Carry it well.

I want you to be people of faith. Not because it is easy, but because it is the only foundation that holds when everything else shakes. Mamanuina e le Atua — we are shaped by God. Let that be true of your lives too.

I love you more than any words on any website could ever say. But I will keep trying — in every voice message, every WhatsApp, every visit, and every page of this little corner of the internet I built for you.

With all my love,

Your GrandpaPapa Kuki
